As the Spring Season begins, all the sports have caught students’ attention, especially boys’ tennis. The Hawks Boys Tennis team, which has prevailed for the past few years, started this season strong and hasn’t slowed down since. From volleys to aces, the team has exhibited great teamwork and camaraderie, two key factors contributing to their immense success, and the best part is that it’s only the beginning.
Since the beginning of the season, the Hawks have sent a message to other schools with an impressive 7-2 record, falling short to some of the best teams in the county while dominating against other rivals. At first singles, Nimish Charanker, through his intense movement and deep shots, has helped the team pull out some of their closest wins, over schools like Monroe and (another example here). At second singles, Co-Captain Eshin Nadpara has utilized his strong groundstrokes and serve to pull through some close matches. At third singles, Swarit Singh, known as a beast on the court, has dominated. At first doubles, Ranvir Nath and Co-Captain Aarav Yadav have built a strong connection, winning some great matches. Similarly, at second doubles, Krish Arora and Ansh Kamkhalia have utilized their volleys and serves to prove their success.
Head Coach Rosenburg, who has led his team to success for the past few years, has noted how he enjoys coaching this team and seeing everyone grow as a person. Without his leadership, it’s unlikely that the team could be as successful as it is today. Alongside him, Assistant Coach Mendez has played a crucial role in providing support, encouragement, and strategies at key moments.
At their GMCs, after two days of close and tight matches, Captain Aarav Yadav and Ranvir Nath pulled out a silver medal, a remarkable accomplishment for the team. Yet, beyond the hardware, the team created many memories at this event, a few that will never be forgotten. The energy during the medal presentation was electric, a feeling that can only be described when living in the moment. The joy was indescribable, with everyone jumping up and down, excited to build upon the name JP has created for itself. Alongside this, the Hawks have beaten impressive schools, such as Edison Magnet and South Brunswick, all key victories that have helped them advance.
The team has many more matches and moments to come, all of which are highlights to watch. Whether it is rallying their way towards the win or celebrating milestones as a team, the JPS Boys Tennis team is a team to watch, and they’re certainly making waves this season.
