Music brings essence and passion into life, and as the spring season is approaching, it is crucial for everyone to have a sense of which spring playlists match the rainy days and new beginnings. Spring playlists can range from upbeat, sunny vibes to a more calm, acoustic anthem, aligning with the hopeful atmosphere the spring season fosters.
Firstly, let’s begin with a sunny and upbeat album which is perfect for bright, warm days with the high energy that spring brings. Many featured artists include The Beatles, Colbie Caillat, Hozier, and indie pop artists such as the Glass Animals. A few songs include “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles and “Brighter Than The Sun” by Colbie Caillat. Many of these songs revolve around optimistic and positive beats and rhythms that give the essence and feelings of spring. These beats tend to use a mid-tempo bounce and a bright tone to create a “spring-like” vibe. For example,as opposed to having a very stiff beat, springtime music often revolves around a spring or a bounce in the percussion. This essentially creates a lighthearted pace and tone in the music, causing many music-lovers to fall in love with the bright tunes. My personal favorite is “Here Comes the Sun” since it showcases a very upbeat tune and represents the theme of spring and the transition between the gloominess of winter and the incoming brightness of spring. Additionally, this song is extremely optimistic which I find one of the most important qualities felt throughout the season of spring, ultimately making this song one of my top favorites on my spring playlist.
Next, let’s move on to the calmer side of your playlist, the Gentle and Folk vibes! Acoustic and soothing beats are a crucial must in your playlist and are simply wonderful for those peaceful mornings, while watching the flowers bloom and for nature to awaken all around you. Some popular songs in this area include “From Eden” by Hozier, “Sun it Rises” by Fleet Foxes, “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty, and “Spring Wind” by Jack Johnson. I love to listen to all of these songs on my morning walk as their calming tunes are one of the perfect ways to start a spring day. Many of these songs emphasize the spring vibes through the serenity that spring fosters and the emotion that the listener feels when hearing them.
Next up, is the indie-pop and energetic music which gives a new vibe to your spring playlist. It features songs such as “Cinderella” by Remi Wolf, “Creatures in Heaven” by Glass Animals, “No More Lies” by Thundercat & Tame Impala and “Flowers in Your Hair” by Lumineers. All of these songs revolve around the same light feeling that spring brings as the season approaches and this section of the playlist definitely fosters the new season vibe. This part of the playlist is one of my favorites because after the frosty, cold winter these songs showcase the happiness and joy that spring brings as this new season comes with much anticipation. So if you’re looking for a synth-heavy, or a few catchy indie-pop tracks, then this playlist is great for you.
Of course this playlist cannot end without a few songs for those unpredictable, moody, rainy spring days that make you want to stay inside. The songs that fit perfectly with this rainy vibe include “April Come She Will” by Simon & Garfunkel, “Wyoming” by Elijah Fox, “I Don’t Think I’m Ever Gonna Figure it Out” by Elliot Smith and “The Woods” by Daughter. All of these songs revolve around the slight gloominess that lingers throughout the spring season and shows how even though spring is two sided and even though it brings a certain happiness, there are a few unavoidable days of moody weather.
Lastly, we can’t skip the romantic vibe that spring brings around the corner. These sweet and airy tunes are perfect for a dreamy afternoon or a walk through a park. Songs such as “They Long to be Close to You” by Isaac Hayes, “Real Love Baby” by Father John Misty, “Butterflies” by Kacey Musgraves and “Dandelions” by Ruth B. all showcase the perfect romance that spring brings. “Dandelions” is a beautiful song as it brings a sweet melody and not only showcases the romantic vibe but also revolves around the softness and vulnerability of spring. All of these songs combined can’t help to make the perfect spring playlist, bringing the sweet melodicness of spring into our everyday lives.
