After a long, hot summer, Sweater Weather has finally arrived… and so have the seasonal favorites at Starbucks and Dunkin! But whose fall menu is better? In order to answer that question, we’ll be embarking on the ultimate fall road trip to determine who wins the battle of coffee.
Our first stop is Dunkin, which is conveniently right outside of JP Stevens. Since Dunkin is so well known for their donuts, it seems appropriate to try the seasonal Pumpkin Donut first. With a pumpkin flavored inside and a sweet glaze, this may just be the perfect sweet snack for every fall lover out there. It does have a competitor though, as Dunkin’s fall menu also includes their Iced Pumpkin Loaf. A swirl loaf cake with icing on top, this treat is individually packaged, making it perfect for anyone who wants an on-the-go option.
We’ve had a snack, but what about drinks? The classic fall drink at Dunkin would definitely be the Pumpkin Spice Latte- topped off with whipped cream, a caramel drizzle, and some cinnamon sugar. This drink is perfect for coffee lovers looking for the smallest hint of fall in their drink, but it may not be your cup of tea if you’re looking for something stronger.
Dunkin seems to have a pretty strong platform in the battle of coffee so far, but our next stop is Starbucks- a grande competitor when it comes to fall themed drinks. Starbucks’ famed Pumpkin Spice Latte comes iced or hot, and it can be customized to the point of what you call perfection. Similarly, Starbucks also has a Pumpkin Cream Chai on their menu- good for anyone who wants the pumpkin in the PSL without the intense taste of coffee.
However, if you’re someone who prefers the strong taste of coffee, the Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso are for you! Both feature fall elements such as pumpkin cream cold foam, cinnamon, and brown sugar while staying true to classic Starbucks drinks.
Now that we have reached the end of our roadtrip, we have a winner… or maybe two. Starbucks does have more options on their menu, but Dunkin is still perfect for anyone looking for something affordable but still delicious. Both have different drinks (or snacks, in Dunkin’s case) that can appeal to different people. Either way, it’s the customer’s choice. But one thing is for certain, Dunkin and Starbucks are definitely here to make fall more delicious.
