On February 26, the JP Stevens cafeteria was filled with laughter and enjoyment as students attended the movie night hosted by the JPAWS club. The club screened a beloved comedy adventure “Zootopia,” directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore. The students were offered various snacks and drinks to savor along with the movie.
The JPAWS club is centered around spreading awareness about the issues facing animals, including endangered species, to the community to help them in the future. The fees for this event were five dollars per student. The funds will be donated to the local shelters and animal organizations which will help provide food, proper beds, and other necessities for the animals in need.
As the clock struck 3:30, the students gathered in the cafeteria to join this night of fun. The movie begins in Zootopia where various animals live. The protagonist, Judy Hopps, sets off as the first rabbit to join the police force, and she faces many challenges along the way. She claims the opportunity to solve a mysterious case, and Nick Wilde, a sharp fox, makes her job harder. By attending this event, the students not only take delight in this adventurous comedy but also contribute to improving the lives of animals in local shelters.
“The event was fun, and I got a chance to hang out with my friends,” said freshman Sadiya Mehwish.
As the night came to an end, the students expressed their gratitude to the club. The movie night was a way for students to socialize and take a break from their busy schedules. The event was a great success, and the organizers were happy with the results. They thanked the students who participated in this event. This event left the students eager for the club’s future events.
“It was actually way more fun than I expected it to be, and I also loved Disney as a kid, so it brought back some fond memories! The money was definitely worth it since we got way more than what we paid for,” freshman Siya Borkar expressed.
