In the spirit of the holiday season, the Got Your Back club hosted a delightful Christmas movie night on December 15 at the school library. The event featured the beloved holiday classic, Home Alone (1990) which drew in many students along with their companions for an evening of festive cheer and entertainment.
The Got Your Back club is a food allergy support initiative, and aims to educate our community on food allergies, advocates for food allergies, and supports the food allergic community itself. The fees for this were five to six dollars per student, which would go towards raising funds for the club’s future initiatives.
The library was transformed into a cozy movie theatre as it was filled with students who were ready to take a break from their daily hectic schedules to enjoy an evening of fun with their friends. The volunteers from the club welcomed the students with great excitement and joy. The students were provided with donuts, mini gingerbreads, festive cookies and other snacks to enjoy as they watched the movie.
“It was really enjoyable interacting with others and having quality time with my friends. I really hope to join more events like these in the future and help spread allergy awareness to more people!” Junior Khadija Ali remarked.
As the movie began, the library was filled with laughter and excitement with students enjoying the tricks played by young Kevin McCallister as he made fun of the two robbers. The event provided the students with a fun and engaging way to come together and incorporate the spirit of sharing joy and creating lasting memories with their friends.
“The classic movie Home Alone along with the donuts, mini gingerbreads, festive cookies, and friends really made me feel that Christmas came early,”Junior Siddhant Chopdar quoted.
As the evening came to a close, many students expressed their joy for the chance to relax and enjoy the timeless holiday film together. The club’s organizers were delighted with the results and are already planning more festive gatherings to bring the students closer during the holidays.
“My friends and I had such a great time at Got Your Back’s movie night with the delicious food and fun activities,” Junior Nakshatra Musti said.
Overall, the Christmas movie night was a resounding success, leaving the students eagerly waiting for future events hosted by the club.
