Catchy music and the smell of appetizing snacks welcomed students as they walked into the school cafeteria. On December 19, the JPS school cafeteria was turned into a party area for this year’s Bandboozle, an event for the talented members of the various branches of the music program, hosted by the Band Enthusiasts Act Together, or B.E.A.T., organization. With the dress code theme of Red Carpet, consisting of red, black, and white, students were encouraged to dress up for the night. The event was a great celebration of friendship, music, and fun.
The entrance was set at 6:30 PM and the cafeteria’s atmosphere was quite lively as students assembled in their best attire in line with the color theme. The excellent decorations were placed in the cafeteria so that the atmosphere ensured the night was set accordingly. The most popular area was the photo zone, where the students posed for photos with props to remember the event with the beautiful decorations in the background. The majority of the commentaries made were that the decorations gave that air of elegance that made the event quite special.
There is no party without good food and Bandboozle offered a great variety of food to eat. The guests were served a variety of foods, including pizza, chips, and cookies so they could snack along with an assortment of various types of beverages. Students were able to sit and socialize with their friends and band members while eating thanks to the food and drinks provided, giving them energy for the remainder of the night.
Without a doubt, the music was one of the best aspects of the event, making the night even more special. “I think that the DJ did a great job at keeping the energy up,” said junior Sai Bura, a flutist. “It was amazing to see everyone enjoy the music and vibe on the dance floor.” Some of the popular tunes played included songs by Drake, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and other popular artists. Everyone was dancing and cheering each other on, clapping and laughing with their friends.
As the night came to an end, the DJ softened the volume of the music while guests concluded their meals and took their last pictures with friends. As junior Sai Sneha Yerra, a euphoniumist, recounts, “The Bandboozle was amazing! The decorations were so creative and really set the vibe, the nonstop songs kept the energy high and were ones I absolutely loved, and the food was delicious—it all came together perfectly.” The night ended as a joyful moment for everyone and another triumphant Bandboozle event wrapped up for the year.
