Let’s set up a situation: The main core subjects at J.P. Steven High School (Math, Science, English, and History) have transformed into humans, and of course, like all human beings, each of them has their own distinct personality.
JP’s primary subjects are Math, English, Science, and History. These four subjects are unique and different in their own ways. Some students may prefer one subject over another, a lot of times, this can be based on which subject they find the easiest or hardest, what teachers they like and do not like, or which subject they enjoy and find passion in the most. But these feelings may change if these subjects were personified as people just like us! Hypothetically speaking, some subjects could be far more interesting if they were people who interacted with us. Maybe we may realize we act similarly to a subject we would’ve never thought we would match with.
If math were a living person, it would make sense for it to have a straightforward personality because there is often only one correct answer in math—well most of the time at least. Math would be a logical thinker and skilled at looking for details in situations. Math can be seen as a decisive perfectionist since this subject revolves around measurements. Math would be a meticulous planner as solving a problem requires detail and work in every step. Learning formulas and many digits can be a tough job, so for this, we can say Math would be really good for remembering birthday parties, special events, and dates. As well as always knowing how much money it has in its bank account. Perhaps this subject may also be an overthinker because there are many variables and routes it takes to find a solution to a problem. If I were to ever plan an event, I know I’d rely on Math as my partner! This subject would be a morning person, calculating down to the second on when to start going to an event and when to start getting ready. After all, punctuality would be Math’s middle name.
Science is similar to math, as both subjects are connected to logistic thinking. I can imagine Science as a person who looks like an old wise man with a white beard—like Charles Darwin. Perhaps Science would just be a sharp, youthful mind who is very innovative and full of curiosity—reminding me more of Young Sheldon. Science as a person would be an ambivert, always looking towards others for guidance but never backing down when it comes to making their own choices and experiments with life. They would always share information with others and try their best to help others grow. Get it, grow like a plant? This subject would be willing to take risks like a brave disease-fighting bacteria, always learning from their past mistakes and finding ways to improve their daily life. I can imagine Science being a big meditator and a master of the arts of tactics. Science would be a big environmentalist and a big animal lover.
English is much more different than both math and science. English is that one friend in the friend group who is always talkative, or what we know as a “yapper.” English would be a storyteller by always having new and exciting events to talk about no matter where they are. English would be a quirky person who loves making jokes but at the same time is the therapist of the group as their wise understanding of character development and comprehension makes them a great advice giver and people look up to them for emotional support. This subject can also be a dramatic person and get emotional in many situations. English would be a detailist like math as well and be very descriptive when they talk. They would be a big gossiper, always having some sort of tea to spill. If you ever need any sort of entertainment, English has your back!
Last but not least, we have History! History loves watching movies and finds entertainment in sci-fi, war, and dystopian genres. History would be a person of their word, and always doing what their mind tells them because they know there is no going back. They love to live in the moment and enjoy life. History would be a phone scroller, always active on social media knowing what goes on worldwide. They like learning about other cultures and people. This subject would be a big foodie, always ready to try new things every day. Unlike English, History doesn’t like to make too many jokes, they prefer the more critical way of life. They would always find ways to constantly evolve themselves, whether it could be trying out new clothing looks or matching with the current trends. With its empathic nature and vast knowledge, History would be a gentle person who is careful with their words and actions. And most importantly, this subject would have a great memory, so don’t mess with them and hope they forget if you do!
While these are all hypotheticals, do the personality of these subjects and your personality coincide? Based on this, does it make sense that it’s your favorite subject? Of course, there are so many various ways to look at all the subjects and give them all different personalities.
