Music from the cafeteria faded in the hallways as JPS students showed up for the annual Bandboozle dance hosted by the Band Enthusiasts Act Together (B.E.A.T.) organization. The annual dance, held on December 18, brought students together for a memorable night filled with singing, dancing, and fun.
Once students entered the venue, they had multiple activities available to them. The DJ controlled the main dance floor and was able to bring everybody together in excitement. If students felt that they needed a refresher, there were snacks and drinks available, provided by student volunteers in B.E.A.T. Many people even brought their own video game consoles so they could play with their friends in the joyful atmosphere.
The music playlist featured many different hits from various artists and genres. Many big hits such as “FE!N” by Travis Scott Ft. Playboi Carti and “I Wonder” by Kanye West enthralled the audience as they danced and encouraged multiple students to connect, showing the importance of connection and building friendships within our community.
As students joined their peers on the dance floor, the air filled with laughter and cheer as people formed new bonds and friendships. The environment was filled with joy until a nice bittersweet end at around 9:00 PM, when the DJ bid everyone farewell, concluding another memorable Bandboozle.
The purpose of this lively event was to raise funds for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation led by the school’s B.E.A.T. club while connecting people together. The Bandboozle demonstrated how students are committed to supporting music education in the community so others could have similar musical experiences. The various student-led groups within B.E.A.T. organized the various decorations, entertainment, and food options for the event.
Over the years, the Band Enthusiasts Act Together organization has shown its dedication to the club and music education to raise funds in support of music programs. Events like Bandboozle demonstrate the positive impact that students are able to have on their community through music.
