Stevens Boba Tea

Navya Joshi, Staff Writer

Attention all JP students! Are you tired of studying, attending classes, and stressing over exams? Do you need a break? Well, I have an idea that may stop you from letting out those boba tea-rs. What if our school, using the skills we’ve gained from playing all those Papa’s games, opened up a boba shop?

Boba, after all, is pretty symbolic of us students. Just as boba tea can have different flavors and textures, we all have different interests and quirks that make us unique. Let’s not forget that boba tea can be energizing and refreshing just like us. We bring new ideas and perspectives to the world around us.

So, hear me out! We’ll start out by assigning roles. All those clubs you’re in have given you valuable skills that can translate to the boba tea business. Take, for example, the music kids who will become the new DJs or even performers for our new boba cafe. You’re in charge of the music, folks. Jazz? Lo-fi? The possibilities are endless. My artistic friends, you’re here to do some boba tea cup designing. Some ideas I can foresee are Plaid Boba Glasses, reminiscent of the good old JP plaid pajamas. Of course, there’s also the traditional green and yellow design that our school loves to work with. Let’s not forget our athletes. Your job is to advertise with the business kids. While you’re out running or attending away games, why not spread some awareness about our humble boba shop, which is totally not run by around 2800 students?

Now it’s the fun part. I am thrilled to propose some exciting additions to our school shop’s menu—a range of boba flavors inspired by our school experience. Our selection of flavors includes:

  • Pencil Lead, with its dark and smoky taste
  • Cafeteria Tray, a combination of savory and sweet flavors that evoke the memories of school lunches
  • Science Lab, a tangy and sour flavor that brings to mind science experiments gone wrong
  • Library, a calming and soothing flavor
  • Textbook, which has a rich and earthy flavor
  • Locker Room, a unique blend of cool mint and sweat that’s reserved for the adventurous
  • Reece’s Recess, if you’re missing our simple elementary school years, a playful and sugary flavor that captures the spirit of break time
  • Graduation, a celebratory and bubbly flavor only available in June

Of course, our menu isn’t just limited to these drinks. Students can come together to create other flavors!

All in all, a boba shop at our school would not only be a fun and creative venture, but it would also represent the unique qualities that make each of us special. Just as boba tea is made up of different components coming together to create a delicious drink, we as students are made up of different experiences and qualities that shape our personalities and make us who we are. Let’s come together, once and for all, to create a boba shop that celebrates our shared experiences at JP.
